Chucho Valdes, 2009 Grammy winner in the category of Best Latin Jazz Album, closed the opening gala of the XII International Cigar Festival at the Havana’s Grand Theater.

Valdes, four-time Grammy winner, delighted the audience attending the biggest event of Premium cigar in the world, alongside the Brazilian Ivan Lins and the Portuguese singer Mariza.

   In the evening the new Wide Churchills was presented, a thick cigar that will join the Romeo and Juliet brand products.

  As part of the day, the Trade Fair was officially opened, where products associated with tobacco farming, machinery, handicrafts, paintings, items for smokers and Gourmet products are exhibited.

 The program activities of the event include the traditional visits to plantations and rolled cigar factories, workshops, tasting and pairings, the Habano sommelier contest and master classes of rolling cigars.

  The annual event brings together entrepreneurs, artisans, artists, traders, producers, distributors, managers of the houses of cigars from around the world, representatives of smoking clubs, businessmen, collectors and suppliers of the tobacco industry, among others.
