Cuban playwright Eugenio Hernandez Espinosa, 2006 National Theater Prize, presented an anthology of his works that recreate some legends of the Afro Cuban culture.

The book entitled "Quiquiribu mandiga", in two volumes and preface by Alberto Curbelo, was recently published by publishing company Letras Cubanas, specially addressed for the 19th edition of the International Book Fair.

The folklore researcher Rogelio Martinez Fure hailed the work of Hernandez Espinosa and described it as a paradigm of originality.

"We are in presence of one of the most transcendental authors of Latin America and the Caribbean, a man who has taken the responsibility of bringing back the memory of the black people and placing it in its socio-cultural dimension.

The two volumes gather, among others, the texts of "Odebi, the hunter", "Ochun and the Parrots", "The Venerable", "Obba Yuru" and "The masigüere".

According to the also director of the Caribbean Cuban Theater company, several of his works yet remain unpublished.
