Trinidad's resorts are very much visited by foreign tourists.
Reinier Rendón, Cuban Tourism Ministry’s delegate in the territory told Escambray that “we have to modernize all our resorts and build new facilities that match current world’s standards, which will definitely open new possibilities for tourism in this region”.
“Three hotels are already scheduled for construction with foreign capital, two of which will be built in the Ancon peninsula while a third smaller joint facility will be constructed in the city. Trinidad is a very much demanded tourism destination both by shareholders and investors”, added Rendón.
Multiple repairing and maintenance works are ahead in the territory such as the overall restoration of 100 rooms and the swimming pool in Ancon Hotel along with the re-construction of most of the local artisans’ facilities, among other tasks. Several other important restoration works were carried out last year in the rest of the hotels.
A new telephone exchange will be opened in Trinidad del Mar hotel which will improve communication services in the resort.
