Lygia Louise Irene Kraag-Keteldijk, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Surinam, assessed relations between her country and Cuba as excellent, upon her arrival to Havana on Monday.
    
The distinguished guest added that the main objective of her visit is related to the official opening of the Surinamese Embassy in the Cuban capital, a ceremony that she will preside over, and thanked Cuba for its contribution to Suriname’s development.

The FM is on the island at the invitation of her Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, with whom she will hold official talks.

During her stay, she will fulfil a program of activities that will include a tour to the International School for Physical Education and Sports, located in the municipality of San Jose de las Lajas, at the outskirts of Havana.

Furthermore, she will visit the Latin American School of Medicine and places of historical interest.

The visitor was received at Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.
