 Cuban Judo will be starting a competitive tour through Europe, which includes its participation at the Grand Slam to be held in Paris, one of the most prestigious Judo tournaments all over the world, informed National Commissioner Rafael Manso.

“Our female judo athletes will be the first ones arriving in Europe as their departure it is scheduled for the upcoming January 23rd.

Then they will train during a week in France and will fly to Belgium to take part at the Open Judo Arlon tournament to be held from January 30th through 31st, said Rafael Manso to Jit sportive news agency.

This Cuban directive also pointed out that outstanding coach Ronaldo Veitia’s female judo athletes will be returning to France to participate at the Grand judo Slam tournament to be held in Paris from February 6th through 7th, a tournament that
will make the Cuban Judo female team debut this year 2010, a squad coached by Justo Noda.

“We will attend to this prestigious French Judo tournament with 6 female judo athletes as well as 5 male judo athletes, though we have planned this year to attend with our entire teams, seven judo athletes(male and female divisions) to the upcoming International Judo events in view of the 2012 Olympic Games.” Manso concluded.
