Cuban worker in Venezuela Douglas Manuel Castellanos, with a Master's degree in Physical Culture, is planning to write a book on the disabled’s performance in sports.

"One of my greatest wishes is to write a book on the disabled who have devoted to sports and taken part in the Paralympics Games," Castellanos told Prensa Latina.

He said that in his five months in Venezuela he has devoted with love to coach 16 students of wheelchair basketball and nine students of go-ball for the blind.

Here in Barinas, 326 miles southwest of Caracas, they had never had sports for the disabled before, he noted.

Douglas, who used to be a builder, a cowboy and a welder, said he never thought to boast a Master's degree in Physical Culture and be the first Cuban worker with such a degree in Barinas.

He thanked Doctor of Science Gilberto Herrera, a former member of the Cuban volleyball team, who was the opponent for his master's degree thesis.

Castellanos is one of the 42,000 Cubans offering their services in sports, agriculture, health, education and culture in Venezuela.
