A documentary film titled ‘Escuela de Medicina del Pacífico’ (The Pacific Medical School) was presented by the Latin American Studies Department of the University of Sydney, Australia. The film deals with Cuba’s health cooperation in the region.

The film, produced by university professor Tim Anderson, includes interviews with medical students from East Timor, Kiribati, Tuvalu and from other nations in the Pacific Ocean.

During the presentation, Anderson shared his personal experiences while shooting the documentary, his visit to the countries of the students interviewed and meetings with members of the Cuban medical brigade working there, as well as with staff members and foreign students at medical schools in Cuba.

He praised Cuba’s solidarity and said that the Caribbean island´s cooperation with those small states was extremely important, helping to improve the quality of life of those peoples.
