Yemen expressed interest in cooperating with Cuba in new sports disciplines
Obad stressed the excellent level of bilateral relations, and his country's interest in enhancing cooperation to other disciplines, as well as supporting a request from the Yemen Boxing Federation, according to a note from the embassy.
This institution will shortly send Cuba the youth boxers' team, directed by Cuban coach Nardo Mestre Flores, to train and exchange experiences with those of the island, as well a Yemeni referee plans to attend a training course in the Caribbean nation.
Both parties also highlighted the excellent bilateral links for the execution in Cuba from June 28 to July 3 of the 19th session of Intergovernmental Joint Commission for Collaboration.
Reyes also explained the significance of the US Supreme Court's decision to refuse to review the case of five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned almost 11 years ago in that northern country.
The Five, as they are universally known, were condemned to harsh sentences running from 15 years to double live imprisonment.
