"The omission of Latin America's political and social context since the late 90s in the European press and the insufficient training of professionals in regional issues are the main problems of such an approach," said Lemoine.
During an exchange with Cuban students and journalists at the Havana-based Jose Marti International Institute of Journalism on Tuesday, Lemoine also denounced the media campaign launched by information multinationals in Europe.
He explained that Latin American reality is also ignored in TV news programs because of financial interests defended by those groups.
