Cuba is using endoscopic surgery through the natural orifices of the human body, said Doctor Raul Castro Perez, a surgeon with 25 years of experience.
He said the advanced, reliable and efficient technique that demands plenty of expertise, has been used in operations through the vagina while oral transgastric procedure is still more recent.
The expert calls the procedure, in use since 2007 in Brazil, France, the US and Europe, less traumatic, more reliable and accounts for lower infection rates.
