During a lecture at the Seventh Regional Conference on this specialty, Goderich said that Cuba is also advancing in surgery techniques using minimal access and via body orifices.

He underlined that medical equipment to apply these techniques is very expensive in the international market.

Goderich said that there are Cuban surgeons working in 43 nations. He said that the priority of surgeons in Cuba is to provide top quality work with professionalism and little wait time.

He said that scientific conferences are being held throughout the country, in preparation for the national congress on surgery slated for early November next year.

Attending the conference were some 100 professors of this specialty in central provinces, who analyzed over a hundred research works.
