During talks with the South African party leader Puente Ferrero reiterated the strengths of the ties between the two countries. He also discussed with the hosts about the action to be taken to reinforce their bonds, reports the Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry’s website.

Meanwhile, the South African communist leader emphasized his support for Cuba in the campaign for the freedom of the five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly incarcerated in the United States, and also underlined his demand for the lifting of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba.

Last month Blade Nzimande was appointed South Africa’s Minister of Higher Education after the general elections in that country where the African National Congress (ANC) and other left-wing parties, including the communist party, won 65.9 percent of the votes.
