Yolanda Word, who wrote the prologue of the book, told reporters that the work, which was produced by the Fernando Ortiz Foundation, serves as reference about human migrations in this part of the world, and reveals common problems, while it also focuses on the abolition of slavery.
The book offers readers a better understanding of the culture of Caribbean nations, said author Rolando Alvarez who thanked the Fernando Ortiz Foundation for having implemented the project. He announced that he and his wife Marta are currently writing another book on the presence in Cuba of direct descendants from aboriginal Cuban people.
