The Eighth Latin American Congress on Hematology started in Havana with a master lecture on the work Cuba has carried out on hematology over the last 40 years.

The congress, which is bringing together experts from several countries until May 22, is aimed at improving diagnosis and therapy for hematological and immunological diseases with the most advanced methods, as well as prevent other related health problems.
Also on the list is to favor the scientific and secure application of transfusion medicine, increasing the number of voluntary donors for the production of blood derivatives.
Lecture, round tables, symposiums, panels and posters, and important issues like leukemia, regenerative medicine, bone marrow transplant, and hematological malignancies are also included on the agenda.
Parallel to the forum, the Second International Symposium on Regenerative Medicine, the Second International Workshop on Hemophilia, and the Fourth Cuban Congress on Hematology are being held.
