The Canarias Cooperation will Help to Residents of Cuba''s Viñales Valley
The program includes electrification of communities in the area, famous for its Jurassic era wooded hills, the mogotes, extensive cave systems and the harmony prevailing between human and nature.

The construction of social works, including doctors' offices and aqueducts, as well as improvements in public transportation, figure among priorities, National Park Deputy Director Yoel Martinez told Prensa Latina.

He said this FUNDESCAN-sponsored experience was begun over a decade ago and has favored the creation of conservation areas designed to increase endemic wildlife species.
