As part of that strategy, a pumping station was built to guarantee water supplies for irrigation in the municipality of Mayarí.

The system consists of 11 machines, three of which are already operational.

In addition, trickle irrigation, which is highly effective for most crops, will be used in the province.

The region where the irrigation systems were activated covers an area of 659 hectares planted with yucca, sweet potato, cereals and banana.
