The upcoming performances by the Cuban Ballet Lizt Alfonso dance company in Egypt is part of cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Dalmau announced at a press conference that the 17-dancer company will arrive in Egypt on May 6, to present two shows in Alexandria City and three other in El Cairo.

The presentations of the Ballet Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba are part of a cultural agreement signed four years ago, thanks to which Cuban National Ballet, under the direction of Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso also performed in this city.

The agreement also covers the celebration of Egyptian Cinema weeks in Cuba and visits of renowned intellectuals to Havana.

The long awaited performance of the company, currently in Holland, comes at a time Cuba and Egypt are commemorating 60 years of good diplomatic relations, Dalmau stressed. Cuban diplomatic sources told Prensa Latina the Lizt Alfonso Company will stage at the Sayed Darwish Theatre in Alexandria, and at Cairo Opera House.
