Cuba won seven gold medals to rule boxing at the 3rd Bolivarian Alternative for our America (ALBA) Games, a tournament that concluded with 11 final bouts.

The Cuban boxers started their harvest in the 51 kilogram division with the victory of Olandi Regalado over Venezuelan Evier Hernandez 9-3, and the same was done by Liván Herrera (54), 9-8 over German Marcel Schneider in a very tight fight.

Yasniel Toledo (57), from Cuba B, knocked-out Kazakhstan's Zhandos Momynov in the third round, while another Cuban Lazaro Alvarez (60), beat 2-1, in a very bad combat, Angel Rodriguez from Venezuela.

Meanwhile, world champion Yordenis Ugás (64), was superior all the way to Guatemalan José María Virula and beat him 15-4; Yoelkis Labatono (69) from Cuba's second squad overcame Venezuelan Yohny Sánchez 21-9.

In the middleweight division, another Cuban Rey Eduardo Recio continued the winning streak against South American fighters, this time the victim was Juan Carlos Rodriguez, when he won his bout by RSC in the third round.

Four visitors reach the top of the podium: they were Ecuadorians Carlos Quipo (48) and Julio Castillo (91), Venezuelan Julio Iglesias (81) and the German super-heavyweight Erkan Teper.
