Well-known figures of the international union movement have confirmed their presence. The list includes secretary general of the World Federation of Trade Unions, Georges Mavrikus; chairman of the General Labor Confederation of Vietnam, Dang Ngoc Tung; president of the Confederation of Ecuadorian Workers, Santiago Yagual; head of Brazil's Central Workers Union, Antonio Neto; and general secretary of the Trade Union Congress of the United Kingdom, Brendan Barber.

At least 682 foreigners from 37 countries have confirmed their attendance at May Day celebration in Cuba, according to Raymundo Navarro, member of the National Secretariat of the Confederation of Cuban Workers (CTC).

Of that figure, 476 are union leaders from 135 organizations, and the rest are members of solidarity brigades from several nations.

Made up by 272 people, the Latin American delegation is the largest so far. Other large delegations will come from Uruguay (104), the United Kingdom (100), Australia (63) and Canada (60).

Navarro said the figure should reach 1,000 people, taking into account that there will activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Revolution and the 70th anniversary of the creation of the Confederation of Cuban Workers.
