With the slogan "A better life for all with the help of all", the event aims at strengthening the work of all sectors of public health to improve the people’s quality of life.

The program for the event includes lectures and round tables to debate topics related to unhealthy lifestyles, the practice of physical activities to improve the quality of life and environmental reorganization and its impact on health.

Participants will also present experiences of Cuban medicine abroad in disasters and their impact on the quality of life of other peoples of the world.

This time, the event will host the 1st International Symposium on Cancer and Quality of Life, taking into account that this disease is among the leading causes of deaths in Cuba, focusing on lung cancer caused by smoking that affects both males and females.

Specialists will also discuss AIDS from a socio-cultural approach based on the quality of life of people at risk, the HIV virus or suffering from HIV, as a way to reduce the spread of the pandemic, which is one of the main causes of deaths in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The International Congress on Health is sponsored by the Health Ministry in Holguin, the Mariana Grajales University of Medical Sciences, the National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology in Havana, the Unit for Cancer Control in Cuba, the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, the Pan American Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
