Performance artists wore costumes created by Mendive in collaboration with experienced designer Ignacio Carmona and moved to the deliberate and reverent percussion rhythm from the Hotel Saratoga to the doors of the Gran Teatro, making a ceremonious pause at the steps of the Capitol Building.
They were greeted at the theater by Maestra Pura Ortiz playing baroque music and accompanied by a group of dancers with their bodies painted by Mendive.
City of Havana Historian Eusebio Leal officially opened the exposition of Mendive’s most recent paintings, sculptures and a large format installation piece.
