Juan Mauro Petrirena, 10, won the bronze medal with a drawing entitled "Underwater Park" in the 16th International Children's Drawing Contest in Japan, in which nearly 52,000 children from 68 countries participated.

The contest is held annually by the IE-NO-Hikari Association sponsored by the ministries of foreign affairs, education and agriculture and also by the NHK television network, Japan's Arts Foundation, among others.
The awards were announced in a ceremony held in Tokyo with the diplomatic bodies of participating countries in attendance.
Tania Domínguez, Science and Culture Attaché of the Cuban embassy in Japan received the award certificate on behalf of the Cuban boy.
