According to organizers, the exhibition consists of 70 artworks on display in an art gallery in the city of Matanzas.

The works, consisting of sculptures, video-arts, engravings, paintings, drawings and photos, were created by professional and self-taught artists, as well as art students.

The lectures "Guayasamín and the Americas", "Guayasamín in Cuba" and "Latin America in Guayasamín" will be held, and a catalogue on the Ecuadorian painter's work will be launched parallel to the exhibition.

Experts recalled that the late Ecuadorian artist is regarded as Ibero-America's painter, considering the magnitude and importance of his work.
