Poultry Farmers Work To Produce 100 Million Eggs in Las Tunas, Cuba
At the present they are creating better production capacities with modern equipment that will improve the breeding in cages all over the province.

A wire of the Cuban News Agency highlights that the reinforcement of the preventive measures to avoid the introduction and dissemination of pathogenic agents in the poultry centers and an appropriate attention to the animals are others of the objectives of the workers of the Poultry Company in Las Tunas to elevate their economic results.

In 1991 this entity reached its historical record in the production of eggs, when gathering more than 93 million units, but the shortage of compound feed during the crisis in the 1990's was fundamental factor in the productive descent registered in the following years.

In spite of the severe damages caused by the hurricane Ike in September 2008, those 650 workers were able to surpass their plan in the production of eggs when adding more than 63 millions, and this year they foresee to overcome that figure and to advance toward the objective of reaching 100 millions in 2010.
