Cubans Help Fighting Illiteracy in Timor Leste
During the fourth session of the 2009 Pedagogy Congress held every two years in Havana, the minister thanked Cuba for the cooperation given in the literacy campaign.

In Timor Leste, there are 35 Cubans working in that program, intended to eradicate that scourge in two or three years, Freitas said.

The minister noted he plans to meet with Cuban Higher Education Minister Juan Vela, and Public Health Minister Jose Ramon Balaguer.

He said to have attended several of the Congress' conferences to gain new experience about anti-illiteracy initiatives fostered in Latin America.
