National Tree Reforestation in Cuba
National forest director Elias Linares told Granma newspaper on the need to foster that specie in nurseries and later to plant up to two for each of the 280,00 that were brought down by those weather phenomena.

The fruit of the royal palm tree (Roystonea Regia. O.F.Cook) is used as animal food, to build roofs, among other benefits.

The westernmost province of Pinar del Rio and eastern of Holguin, Las Tunas and Camaguey will strengthen labors of the referred program because they were seriously devastated by those hurricanes.
