Cuba's electronic industry will increase production of solar panels this year, which are used to supply electricity in faraway regions.
In order to achieve that goal, a new automated line of production will be assembled at the Pinar del Río-based Empresa de Componentes Electrónicos, in western Cuba.
The photovoltaic panels made in that factory have been installed in schools and hospitals in faraway regions in Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba.
After the new production line is assembled, experts will test the facility before starting up the plant, which will also produce larger panels (up to 165 watts) using more powerful cells.
