“‘Cuatro manos’ deals with the feelings and ethical values of various generations of Cubans,” said the playwright and stressed that it is an honest work, faithful to reality. He said he is especially interested in the population aging process on the island, the issues associated with it and the different alternatives to address the issue.
The winning work of the 24th Carlos Arniches Prize will be announced in 2009 by the Alicante City Council and the country’s Centro Nacional de Nuevas Tendencias Escénicas.
Born in Tamarindo, Camagüey, in 1960, Del Pino has a vast artistic work with several prizes and publications. He was awarded the Miguel Hernández Journalism Prize in 2008.
He is currently in Spain on a study tour sponsored by the Miguel Hernández Foundation.
