Lovers of Cuban rhythms will take part here from the 23 and until the 28 of coming November to World Meeting of Casino dancers. The Casino is a dance created in Cuba in the 60´s of last century.
The event is sponsored by the Paradiso tourist agency, which belongs to the Ministry of Culture. Baila en Cuba 2008 includes presentations of dance academies, workshops given by teachers of art schools and exchange with exponents of this genre.
There will be also concerts by some of the main orchestras of popular music, among them Los Van Van, Adalberto Álvarez y su son, and NG La Banda.
Among the attractions of the program it is worth mentioning the choreography workshop and the classes of traditional Casino.
Founded in 2006 the meeting, in its third edition, has gathered together dancers from Europe and Latin America.
The participants have received conferences given by specialists about Cuban popular dances, among them mambo, rumba, guaguanco, cha cha cha and conga.
