Maritza Cruz Dávila, scientific advisor to the research and graduate studies office of the Manuel Ascunce Domenech Teachers Training College expressed that 155 papers will be presented at the event in 10 commissions related to the main educational problems of Ciego de Ávila.  

Among the main topics to be discussed is the upgrading of teachers and administration workers, pedagogical orientation, quality in the ´teaching-learning process, environmental and health education, assistance to children needing special care and methodological work in schools.

Parallel to the commissions a workshop will take place dealing with the achievements of the Cuban Teachers Association in the territory. On this occasion the results will be revealed of the 20th Century Outstanding Teachers Project, concerning the impact of the life and works of those educators on the province.

Besides, 13 courses preliminary courses will be taught associated to the Teachers Training College in the territory.

This meeting, held every two years, constitutes the grassroots instance to select the papers that will be submitted to the international gathering next January.
