Alicia Alonso and the Cuban National Ballet (BNC in Spanish) performed in Canada fulfilling their contract compromises, in the Hamilton Place, with the Cuban version of the ballet Giselle (Choreography: Alicia Alonso, on the original by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot. Script play: Théophile Gautier, Vernoy de Saint-Georges and Jean Coralli, inspired in a popular German legend compiled by Heinrich Heine. Music: Adolphe Adam. Designs: Salvador Fernández).

Last year, Cuban artists came to this same Canadian plaza, with the Nutcracker ballet (Choreography: Alicia Alonso, on the original by Lev Ivánov. Music: Piotr Ilich Chaikovski. Script play: On the original by Marius Petipa, based on the free version by Alexandre Dumas of the short story The nutcracker and the king of mice, by E.T.A. Hoffmann. Together with Alonso were traveling on this occasion, Viengsay Valdés, Anette Delgado, Víctor Gilí, Rómel Frómeta, Yanela Piñera, Amaya Rodríguez and Ernesto Díaz, who will play the main roles in Giselle.
