Machado Ventura Returns to Cuba after Participating in UN General Assembly
Cuban First Vice President José Ramon Machado Ventura came back to the island on Thursday night after fulfilling a large program of activities within the framework of the UN General Assembly’s 63rd Session in New York

During his stay in New York, Machado took part in three UN events, held 12 bilateral meetings with leaders from different parts of the world, participated in a solidarity gathering for the Cuban Five and met with Cuban personnel assigned to the Permanent Mission to the United Nations.

The Cuban delegation received many demonstrations of solidarity that recognized the resistance and success of the Cuban people in the face of natural disasters and the strengthening of the US blockade against the island.

Fernando Remírez de Estenoz, head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Cuban Communist Party, returned along with Machado, while Foreign Minister Felipe Pérez Roque and other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue participating in the sessions of the UN General Assembly.
