In a message received at the Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC), the CCOO general secretariat expressed their sorrow for the agricultural and housing losses suffered by Cuba due to the passage of hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

In view of the magnitude of the disaster, the Spanish workers put themselves at the disposal of the CTC and its affiliates.

The Spanish organization assessed as “very positive” the efforts made by the Cuban government in the evacuation of over three million people into shelters or homes of relatives and friends prior to the storms.
