The tropical storm Hanna caused sea flooding up to 240 meters inland in the north-eastern town of Gibara, Holguin on Wednesday.

Previously, the local system of the civil defence activated its main structures in those places near the coast, pounded by waves almost three meters high.
Heavy seas, rarely seen of this magnitude by the people of Gibara, led to the evacuation of numerous families living in areas hit by the waves.
Home appliances and other belongings were also evacuated and protected, while residents of this town have been warned of the possibilities of a recurrence of this situation.
Gibara is one of the coastal areas of Holguin, with a high risk of sea flooding before the occurrence of weather phenomena, or those associated with them.
