San Romero de las Americas Church in New York city demands freedom for the Cuban five

The San Romero de las Americas Church in New York city issued an official demanded for the release of five Cuban antiterrorists unjustly imprisoned in US jails, and is organizing a mass rally "For Truth and Justice" on September 21.

Additional activities organized by the church are a campaign to help raise awareness of the case of the Cuban Five who were unjustly arrested and detained nearly ten years ago, and a panel discussion on state terrorism, reported the Juventud Rebelde newspaper. Church members will also participate in the Freedom for the Five march organized by several solidarity organizations which will take place in Washington DC September 13.

They also informed that they will have a five-day fast and prayers starting on September 15. A communiqué from the church expressed that to remain silent in the face of injustice makes us "an accomplice of those who oppress, exploit and terrorize our people."

September 12 will mark one decade of unjust imprisonment in the US for Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez, known as the Cuban Five. The five men were submitted to a fraudulent and biased trial in Miami, a city that houses the same anti-Cuba terrorist groups that they were reporting on.
