More than three thousand people from all over the country come every week to the seventeen museums that exist in the province of Sancti Spíritus, a greater number than what was registered last year during the summer period.
According to Digna Rabí Valdés, specialist in Promotion and Public Relations from the Provincial Center of Cultural Heritage from the area, the increase is due mainly to the variety of recreational and educational options that are being offered by the installations this summer.
The guided visits; the transitory exhibitions; the Planetarium, found within the Museum of Natural History of the Village of Yayabo; and the summer program, an activity for children that involves art instructors and different factors from the region of Fomento, are some of the most popular proposals.
The attention of the [people of Sancti Spiritus is still centered around the gathering La Noche de la Fuente (The night of the fountain) at the Colonial Art Museum from the city of Sancti Spiritus on the last Thursday of every month which includes the sections of promotion of museum pieces, music as well as exchange with famous personalities from the world of culture.
The specialist added that among the most visited museums during the summer period stand out the Museum of Archaeology, of Architecture, the Romantic, of the Fight Against Bandits and the Municipal Museum of Trinidad, found all of them in that city which is a Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
