Rains are expected in Eastern Cuba since tonight which will be stronger by Wednesday morning, especially in mountainous areas and the southern coast.
Meteorological authorities also forecast sea swells along the northern coast starting tonight.
The central pressure of the hurricane has dropped to 981 hectoPascal, classifying as a Category 1, nearing level 2 of the Saffir-Simpson scale. Weather forecasts say it should maintain its current intensity and move slowly in a west by northwest direction.
