Havana Historian Eusebio Leal Spengler will receive the 2008 Olaguibel Award from the Basque-Navarre Architecture College in November, because of his outstanding work in the integral rehabilitation of the old part of the city of Havana.

The Spanish award is granted to people or institutions contributing to the diffusion of architecture, even when they do not influence, or are directly linked to architecture.
In the case of Leal, his contributions to the spreading of the rescue and preservation of Old Havana, of which he is responsible, were taken into account.
The award consists on the matrix of a lithography on stone taken from the German region of Munich, used by printer Heraclio Fournier.
The matrix is taking the signature of architect Justo Antonio Olaguibel (1752-1818), whose name the institution now takes.
Leal will be awarded at the Victoria-Gasteiz House Meeting Room, during the International Congress of Historical Cities.
