The poetry book Ovejas y demonios (Sheep and Demons), by the writer of this city, Antonio Borrego, won the prize La Puerta de papel, of the Cuban Book Institute, as the best literary text published in 2007 by the editorials of all Cuba.
This book is an anthology of other unpublished texts and it is written in free verses and sonnets, with different topics, such as the love and the double moral, among others.
The prize La Puerta de papel is granted every year after analyzing all the publications of the country in the previous year. The winner is always elected as the book of the best quality.
Sheep and Demons was printed by Sanlope Publishing House, in the eastern province of Las Tunas, and it is the last published book to this author.
Antonio Borrego is one of the best writers in Las Tunas and he has published titles such as Doy gracias a Dios por ser ateo, Terrenal, Juegos lunares, Juanillo and Diapositivas.
