Cuban history has benefited from digital technology, as a new encyclopedia on Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (1819-1874) will be launched on the Internet soon.

The multimedia work will be posted on the WWW from the eastern city of Bayamo, where Cuban nationality originated and which is the birthplace of Céspedes, who is also known as the Father of the Homeland.
The encyclopedia will include the patriotic march to Manzanillo, a hymn that Céspedes composed and that preceded Cuba's National Anthem.
It will also contain the biography, and active and passive bibliography about the Cuban revolutionary leader, as well as information about his family, photos and a map of the liberation campaign (1868-1878).
