As part of the declaration of warning to the provinces of the east of Cuba, the inhabitants of the province of Las Tunas stay watching the track of the Tropical Storm Fay.
In this first phase the residents of the eight municipalities of the province carry out the cleaning of drains and roofs, as well as the execution of all the directions of the Civil Defense.
The main objective in this phase is to take into account all the necassary measures to protect the population and the economy.
The commands in all the municipalities will execute with agility the protection measures planned for this stage, prioritizing the coastal communities.
The Institute of Meteorology of the Republic of Cuba forecasts heavy showers, rains and electric storms in the Cuban east.
The precipitations might be heavy in some towns of the eastern provinces, especially in the mountainous areas with 100 millimeters in 24 hours.
