Tirso Saenz, president of the Cuban Sugar Technicians Association (ATAC) highlighted Monday the widening of contacts and friendship with sugar technicians from Central America.

In statements to the press, Saenz said Cuba expanded ties with international specialized organizations when it was accepted as a full member of the Central American Sugar Technicians Association (ATACA).
This means keeping in touch with institutions from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, South Africa, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Maurizio Islands, Mexico, Panama, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the International Sugar Organization (OIA).
Cuba is also founder of the International Sugar Cane Technicians Association, with a post in its Council and the Vice Presidency on the Product and By-Product Section, and a founder of the Group of Latin American and Caribbean Sugar Exporting Countries.
