A prestigious group of international artists have confirmed their participation in a performance all together in the first public concert in the United States in support of the cause of the Five Cuban fighters against terrorism, as next September 12th will be ten years of their arbitrary arrests.
The concert, entitled Cinco Estrellas y un Canto [Five Stars and One Song] is set to the Saturday, September 13th, and distinguished musicians and singers like Danny Rivera (Puerto Rico), Víctor Víctor (Dominican Republic), Chuchito Valdés (Cuba) and Todas las Estrellas Doradas del Jazz de Puerto Rico (United States) will be taking part in it.
The host of the night will be Bill Santiago, who has recently officiated as Master of Ceremonies at the Latin Grammy Gala Celebration.
In declarations to Granma from California, Alicia Jrapko, member of the International Committee to Free the Five ―and promoter of this initiative―, expressed her gratitude to “all the artists for their collaboration and the extraordinary willingness of the Hostos Community College, the auditorium of which has a capacity of 1 000 people”.
