Cuba readies to discuss a social security and welfare bill that will balance its growing lifespan and declining birth rate.

Maribel Falcon, member of the local Worker’s Union, says union leaders and officials are being trained to head grass root debates of the bill announced last July to be approved in December.
Falcon called key for every worker to study additions like extending five years retirement age, setting the limit at 60 years for women and 65 years, for service time to round 30 years.
Cuba allocates 13.8 per cent its national budget to social security and welfare.
