A regional project sponsored by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to facilitate equitable access to information on Health Sciences available in the Internet was inaugurated in Havana.
PAHO representative Amaparo Zequeira participated in the opening of the first part of a Virtual Library on Health (VLH) located at the "Ruben Martinez Villena" Provincial Public Library of the Havana Historian's Office.
This virtual library contains nearly 3,000 scientific magazines published in Cuba and abroad.
In order to guarantee the validity of the documents available in the VLH, diverse methodologies, tools and selection criteria are used.
With this initiative, PAHO intends to facilitate access to information on Health Sciences in public libraries that have the necessary conditions.
