In San Francisco Cuban Five Freedom Billboard to be Posted

A huge billboard demanding freedom for five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters who remain unjustly imprisoned in the United States will be erected in downtown San Francisco during the month of August.

The US National Committee to Free the Cuban Five announced that the billboard will go up to mark 10 years since Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino, Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez were first imprisoned on September 12th 1998.

The Five were arrested in Florida and condemned to harsh and unjust sentences for infiltrating anti-Cuba extremist groups that were planning and carrying out terrorist actions against the Caribbean nation.

According to Juventud Rebelde news daily, the initiative is part of a campaign of the US National Committee to Free the Cuban Five to let the American people know about the case, which is ignored by the US mainstream media.

A similar billboard was posted last February at the Hollywood Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles.
