Cigar Humidors Highlighted in Cuban Fair
The event, running until May 24, is sponsored by ACAA (the Association of Cuban Artists and Artisans) at the historical center of the city of Matanzas, 62 miles east from Havana.

A customary humidor is an airtight box made of wood with a hygrometer to measure humidity, securing the cigar bands' quality.

However, with the designers' ingenuity, they have become true works of art made of leather, which may reach thousands of dollars at auction.

The main attraction for visitors this year is a 1.6 meter high, 1.6 meter wide humidor recalling the famous Roman Colosseum.

The event includes lectures, collectors' exhibits and visual arts-related activities.
