Activities from the José Martí Cultural Center of Mexico to be highlighted.
The publication pointed out that its history started as a place to protect and preserve the mural Canto a Martí (A song to Martí), made in 1976 by the Mexicans Luis Nishizawa and Mario Orozco Rivera.

That very huge painting represents Latin America united through the thinking of the Cuban freedom fighter and among the characters that appear in it, there is Martí himself, Benito Juárez, Simón Bolívar and Camilo Cienfuegos, it added.

It reminded that the doors of the Cultural Center remain open for the people and therefore it is not strange that while its terrace is the stage for concerts, inside there are theater performances and visitors enjoying the exhibitions.

There is also an Art Garden destined to the living together and the learning of chess, as well as a library which is also a classroom.

Chilanguía pointed out that the center offers a special attention to the children who live on the streets and adults who are prostituted, by offering conferences on sexuality or movie cycles on the prevention of AIDS.

According to the director, María Eugenia Mondragón, the offer of the Center is nurtured from the public who take their music, theater of graphic art proposals just by handing in their projects and so have reached there most of the events that have taken place.

On May 30, is the 32nd anniversary of the José Martí and the people from the capital are invited to celebrate it.
