Electricity Available to More People in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba
The community, located among the hills of Florencia municipality, holds some 70 rural families; they only had electricity in the clinic, the school and the audiovisual room.

Now, on the other hand, they can enjoy the new kitchenware allocated to the families, as well as several other appliances.

Jaime Quirós Crespo, investment manager of the Electricity Basic Organization in Ciego de Ávila province, expressed that they are placing new concrete posts, transformers, meters, breakers, as well as primary and secondary lines.

These investments, he pointed out, aslso reach some six houses in a nearby area and 15 more, belonging to the Ciro Redondo municipality located close the place.

The advances of the basic industry and the Energy Revolution in Cuba add to more than 200 programs currently carried out in the country to favour the people and their economy.

The President Fidel Castro, in one of his speeches in 2006, said that the aim of these improvements was to transform them into a strategy of rational employment of energy, bearing great value for the planet in the present and future circumstances.
