Following the statement by the General Secretary of the Cuban Workers Federation, Salvador Valdes Mesa, a bloc of students and professors from the University of Information Technologies started the huge march in support of the Cuban Revolution.
Bearing banners, posters and placards, the Havana people are demonstrating in support of Socialism and against Washington’s hostile Cuba policy; they also demand the release of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters held for nearly 10 years now in US prisons.
Also present at the Revolution square are personalities from other countries, outstanding Cuban workers, Communist Party and government officials, relatives of the Cuban Five and renowned personalities.
Representatives from 61 nations and 175 organizations of the world are taking place in the Havana march.
